All things blue Ruana

This hooded Ruana is inspired by all things blue and variations of it. The ocean, the night, indigo, and our ancestors. In some Incan traditions It is believed that our ancestors present them selves in visions in the blue indigo color and sometimes more of a turquoise color. At first this blue was inspired by the color of a deep ocean blue then it wanted to evolve into a vintage and Japanese influenced creation. 

The stitchings in white are called Boro stitchings in Japan. Derived from the Japanese boroboro, meaning something tattered or repaired, boro refers to the practice of reworking and repairing textiles through piecing, patching and stitching, in order to extend their use. To arrive to this look without this piece being tattered or vintage it took lots of work and skill and who better to do this work than the weavers of the sun in Boyaca, Colombia.
